The challenge was to pick a graphic designer with a style to study, and implement their design choices into my visual interpretation of the provided sounds: a laughing baby, a car crash, and a conversation between a tuba and a flute. I studied Saul Bass's work and what specific choices he made to represent his subjects. Sounds were studied using movement, marks, symbols, line weights, images, and textures. Chosen theme: wild animals Designer Study: Saul Bass - Poster making Known for simplified, sharp-edged shapes full of energy and movement. Most of his work has a paper-cut look to it.
